the metaphor that goes bang

So here goes our damn Liberal media, they're really laying into Cheney for shooting his friend in the face, by blaming Whittington for getting shot. They claim that because he has now had a heart attack that we can't joke about it.
Some Herald, doesnt really matter which has this story first saying that the jokes arent funny and that its the guys own fault. So fuck you herald.

Ok I'm no hunter but I know plenty of them and I know that if your out hunting and you "announce yourself" then you will might get shot intentionally. A huge part of hunting is being quite, hell Elmer Fudd knows that " you have to be very very quite when your huntning wabbits." But apparently our press core doesn't understand that. Our press is pathetic, a man is walking up behind his friend, probably so he wont be in his line of fire, and apparently Cheney was observant enough to hear the little quail take flight behind him but didn't notice the Man wearing Blaze Orange that was behind it. From my driving experience he may have noticed him at the last moment and inadvertantly aim at him, its called target fixation people will look at the car thats crashing in front of them and drive into the accident because there eyes were drawn towards it. It happens in a race car all the time, you need to teach your self to look where you want to go never look at the accident. So Cheney probably spun around and as he pulled the trigger saw the orange and was drawn towards it, its only a guess but even if its true it still doesn't change anything.
But back to my original point which was that our lame ass press is going along with the story that the other guy is responsible to tell the others where he is, and thats bullshit. The guy with the gun is responsible. End of story you have a gun your responsible for what you shoot, intentional or otherwise, you dont fucking shoot if you dont know whats around you. And if your friend just got a bird and should be coming back soon then dont turn around and fire blindly. I just want to flog the shit out of anyone who tries to claim this isnt Cheney's fault. Now its not the end of the world that it happend, the problem is the responce, or lack thereof. If Cheney had come out within hours of the incident and said "My fellow americans, I have been involved in a hunting accident. I was in Texas hunting quail and accidentaly shot my friend. I made a terrible mistake that will haunt me for the rest of my life but right now there is a man in the hospital who has been shot, please keep him in your prayers tonight." He's got better writers but something like that would have put an entirely different spin on it. I probably wouldn't even have made any jokes... ok i wouldnt have made nearly as many jokes. Just fucking admit when you make a mistake, everyone screws up from time to time it happens were only human but what I can't stand is when people wont admit when they make a mistake, that is simply cowardice. Its the kind of thing that a nine year old does, its not what the leaders of the free world should do. If Cheney had a soul he would simply tell the american people and his friend that he made a mistake and that there are no words to convey the sence of sorrow and regret that he feels, thats a sign of character. But as has been shown many times character is some thing this administration knows nothing about.
