Mo Shite

A good little piece on why it makes sense to still be scared, without the fear mongering.

Hey remember that whole thing with prosecutors being fired illegally and whatnot?
"Our investigation found significant evidence that political partisan considerations were an important factor in the removal of several . . . U.S. attorneys."
Hmm... that could get interesting, although I doubt anyone will pay attention.

Who is this John Kerry fella and why wasn't he around four years ago when that guy with a similar name ran for president?
As for McCain's role in all this... John Kerry summed it up best: "He said he was going to interrupt his campaign to come down and save the negotiations. Most people believe is that what he did was interrupt the negotiations to come down and save his campaign."
Amazing. Other than it hurts to hear him have some balls when they were so lacking a few years back when he really needed them.

And here is a really random comic strip.

Ouch!

Ok random ass shit time, via Fark. A girl in Russia called her friend ugly and that she would never get a boyfriend. I think she's right but not cause of looks. The girls reaction? She pulled out a pair of tweezers and proceeded to stab her friend over 100 times, killing her friend. Even if she gets out of jail, I'm guessing she might find it tough to find a guy. "Do these pants make my ass look fat?" you'd risk your life answering that question.

Captchas

Obviously I'm not the only person who gets annoyed, but the next time I get pissed at Captcha (which considering this will be a short post should be about one minute) I'll be able to think of these and remember that it could be worse. Although I think a few are from here.

Interesting Art

This is an artist with a clear political, and social, agenda. Not that I see that as a bad thing. We The People is my favorite. Its a huge piece of art, 8' by 25', which from a distance is the heading of the US Constitution, but it is composed of 83,000 pictures of Abu Ghraib prisoners. Why 83,000? Glad you asked, thats the total number of persons who have been arrested and held without trial by the US.

It's Friday I can't be entirely serious

So heres a quick list of the 10 oldest women I'd still bang. Classy. I would disagree with them on Goldie Hawn because she's kinda scary looking these days, except they won me over by saying, "Just, like, pretend its Kate Hudson." Again, classy.

Cults

Ok cults are generally a bad thing, this one takes things to another level. I'm rarely at a loss for words but right now I'm having trouble putting together any sort of cognitive thought. Good luck to the children, I'm not sure you can recover from this, then again some people are pretty damn resilient, I hope this kid is. Read the article, but its not pleasant....

No i'm not going to blame religious indoctrination on this one, this is just some very very fucked up people, no matter what happens with the world there will always be the sick ones, but damn, thats really sick.

Evil Atheist Conspiracy

Hey I thought we had the ACLU on retainer, WTF are they doing supporting religious freedom? Oh thats right there is no EAC (thats what we tell the public) and the ACLU defends civil liberties, they protect the rights of the people who still think the ACLU is a subversive group. Oh well.

Ok so this is a nothing little case about a woman fired from the library because she didn't want to work a Harry Potter release party or some such shit. I only link to it to point out the stupidity of folks who hate the ACLU despite not knowing what they stand for. Thats all.

Church Insulted By Zombies

Yeah theres only one zombie we revere around here buddy! I'm not your buddy friend! I'm not your friend guy! Jesus loves you, and your brains!

Thanks Pops! - Great Quote

My parents are renovating a building so I've been doing some work with them last couple evenings after regular work. It's been fun to get to just talk about stuff, just the two of us. Sure we just got back from a vacation together but there were always others around and I kinda tried to avoid politics with that crew. Of course it was the week of the PA primaries and I'd just gone to see Obama speak, oh shit I never mentioned that did I? Anyway politics came up after considerable drinking which isn't always the best plan, but it sure wasn't going to stop me. Parts of it got quite heated, but I was just getting pissed off because one guy kept saying that he hated my boy Eric Massa because he was just a full time politician..... For the non-locals, Massa is a 27 (?) year naval vet who held some pretty lofty posts under Gen. Wes Clark but has never held a political office. Yes he's been campaigning against the incumbent who actually has been a politician most if not all of his adult life but somehow none of that was relevant because Massa is a full time politician, end of discussion. Whatever fucktard. So while I wouldn't call my father a liberal I do consider him a very logical and rational person which means many of his views are fairly liberal, with a bit of a libertarian lean. But when in a group of decidedly conservatives, he'd rather just have a good time, he is on vacation at the time. Me on the other hand, my politics don't take a rest, especially not just cause I'm drunk. What I'm trying to say is that the last couple days we've had some interesting convo's. I try not to dwell on the heavy stuff for too long but some shit just needs to be said.

Now for the story about the quote, some ad came on for Larry the Cable Guy, and so I told my dad, "It's kinda funny of all the different groups of people, the only one that consistently makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable is rednecks." "Maybe that because they seem to be about one breath away from being skinheads" my dad fires back with no hesitation. Well done dad, well done.

Quote of the day

"We do not have one brain cell to waste in the state of Kentucky when it relates to our young people," Westrom said.

Hehehe, I'm an asshole.

Oh this was in reference to Kentucky being the latest state to ban alcohol vaporizers which do just what they sound like, and there seem to be some good reasons to ban them. But I only posted this because that quote made me laugh.

Hot for Teacher

Ok this is about as far from a scientific study as possible but I like to check out Fark on a pretty regular basis and it seems like almost everyday there is a story about a teacher having sex with an underage student. It's a big country and plenty of pervs so that in and of itself is no real shock, what surprises me is that the vast majority are female teachers with young male students. And often the teachers are hot! Now my real assumption is quite simply that the people at Fark find a lot more amusement in hot cougar teachers than grizzly perv's and who can blame them? But maybe it is more common in this direction, and if so then I'm very angry. There were several teachers I wish I could have had sex with back in high school, its just not fair.

Vegan

I have no intention of becoming a vegan but I might have a new roommate soon and shes vegan, and cute. Forgetting all the obvious thoughts running through your head about what I'm thinking (they're right), there's also the simple fact that I've always meant to learn how to cook, but cooking for yourself sucks. I'm just too apathetic about my own comfort to worry about cooking good food. I don't worry about heat until it drops below 60, inside. At the same time I'll do almost anything for a friend, so I think having a roommate will help motivate me to learn to cook. The fact that I need to learn how to cook vegan food that I'm willing to eat too just adds to the challenge. The fact that the roommate is single female and cute simply means I'm more motivated than I might otherwise be.

The real point of this post though is asking if anyone knows any good vegan recipes, and if you've got some that are easy to make thats a plus, like I said I'm learning to cook. I'm looking at you Granola Guy, I have this strange feeling you might know a thing or two about hippy food.

bored

I should really be working but I just can't do it. I finished a crappy rant earlier but it showed up as from Saturday because thats when I started it.

I'm bored outta me gourd and I don't know what to do.

Maybe I should work on doing something with my life. Eh that always ends up depressing because I then have to think about how little I've done thus far.

I could go creep out the new girl. She still being kinda a bitch to me, I not interested in her anymore, maybe I should just have some fun with that fact. Man, sometimes I wish I was an asshole, that could be fun, but nooooo I've gotta immediately think, oh shes still a nice person theres no reason to be mean to her.

I've already read the latest XKCD, its a good one, its about nerd sniping.

I found another webcomic I like, its been around for a while and its amazing. Perry Bible Fellowship I think the name is intentionally as random as the comic. Unfortunately I already read all the ones on the site, thats what I did this morning.

Ah a new Jesus and Mo, umm... What the fuck is a Jinn? I probably don't want to know.

I would just go play some flash games but that shit is too obvious. ugh, 45 more minutes.....

Weird

To my surprise my most popular posts seem to be the ones about my mundane life problems, at least in terms of comments. So here is an odd one. Not odd as in I've never encountered this problem because I suck with women, you know the whole chain letter issue, not this is odd in the legitimately odd sort of way. I'm not really looking for advice because I'm pretty sure of what I'm going to do. I just need to tell this story, although the ending is far from being written. A friend calls me up and asks if I'm still planning on moving to a new place?
Yeah were going to try to find someplace a little bigger after the new year.
Do you need another roommate, or would it be possible to have another roommate?
Well we haven't picked a place yet but there's no reason it can't be a three bedroom instead of two. Why who needs a place?
Blah Blah Blah.
You mean the same Blah Blah Blah that I've been flirting with?
Yeah.
Uhh... well... I guess... um... sure?

I then talked to her and she seemed really excited, she's been in college and still living at home and just really wants to get out. Which is totally understandable. My parents are awesome but I went nuts the last time I lived at home. If I say no then I'll completely blow any chances with what seems like a very nice girl. But if I say yes then its going to be insane. We've hung out a few times, never had a real date although I thought we were going to once, and now we might be moving in together? Most people would probably say thats moving a bit quickly, and they'd be right. Shit seeing as absolutely nothing has happened between us I hope she realizes that I'm even hitting on her. I know this sounds like a recipe for disaster but whatever, its not like I'm swimming in options here. So there you have it, oh actually as for her knowing my intentions I think she does. She was hanging out with said mutual friend when he gave me her number, he failed to mention that they were together so when I called her 1 minute later (as he fully expected me to) I felt like a total ass but it probably made my thoughts apparent. In this case thats probably a good thing. Anyway so thats my weird ass situation, a girl I'd like to call my girlfriend sometime soon may soon be living with me. Hopefully in that order, otherwise it's going to be all the more awkward.

Ok now you can tell me what an idiot I am.

My Love Problem

I finally figured out the true cause of all my problems with women. It has nothing to do with looks or lack of money. Those who think it's do to my lack of tact, or my general awkwardness around certain women may have some valid points but ultimately they are wrong. It's not even my lack of ambition thats holding me back from finding my true love. I have finally found the problem, and the problem is... chain letters. Yup, chain letters. Especially once you're friends with a few idiots who love fucking myspace bulletins. By my very careful calculations of number of chain letter received vs number read vs number responded to (which is a constant - 0) which is then multiplied by the average time span of bad luck which can range from one bad kiss to an eternity of solitude. So by punching in the relevant data I should be able to find my dream girl in about two more ice-ages. Seriously who the fuck sends chain letters? Admittedly with emails its so easy to forward pointless crap to many people that I think the senders fail to realize the pain and suffering they are doling out to their unsuspecting friends. Myspace on the other hand is just redunkulous with the amount of bad luck that gets dished out everyday, an hour on Myspace and you might as well throw away the dreams and break out the tissue box, you're done.

I mean here is one I just got from a girl I was acquaintances with in high school and occasionally run into around town, but of course we're friends on myspace.

Don't know how this one is suppose to work!!!!!!
miss you ღ
ღIt's funny how many people have posted this. Guess we're all in the same boat, missing someone.. be honest...if you really miss someone, a friend, a love, or a family member right now & can't get them off your mind...then repost this titled as "I miss you...". Within 1 minute & whoever you are missing will surprise you. If you break this you will have the worst love life starting in 1 hour...ღ

Ok so that was pretty lame even by chain letter standards but still, that one alone should leave me with "the worst love life starting in 1 hour" and ending when? Fuck my love life is ruined because I didn't want to annoy other people with junk mail. What sort of a friend would send this instrument of pain? I mean I might send these to my mortal enemies but I don't really have any, at least not mortal enemies that are also myspace friends. I did once receive like an actual paper chain letter. It was hilarious, I was fairly young so I was excited to get any piece of mail let alone one from a friend from kindergarten who I hadn't seen in years, and had moved out of the area. I tore into it, I read it once. WTF? I read it again. Then looked up very quizzically at my mother. Um, he sent me a chain letter? WTF? So fuck chain letters, fuck them for being annoying, fuck them for making me think I've
been sent something real and fuck them for ruining my love life. Oh and of course fuck anyone who sends out chain letters, if you're that desperate for attention just give me a call, damn.

This might be my most random post ever. Its friday, a good time for a pointless rant.

Push-ups

We've had a little joking conversation about weight loss and so you might be thinking I'm going to talk about how I'm doing push ups because they are a great exercise that requires nothing but your own body. All thats why I SHOULD be doing push ups. I have a friend on the other hand who is doing push-ups for those reasons. Well and because he's going to be doing weekends in jail for like a month and a half. While he is there they don't have time to do a TB test so they just throw him in quarantine for 2 days (TB test takes 5 days) so he's got nothing to do but study for school and do push-ups. So he's got two goals, the first one I'm going to help him with which is learning ever muscle in the body so he can win a five thousand dollar scholarship for school, massage school hence the muscles. The second goal is he wants to set a world record for push-ups. He wasn't sure how the records were set, most in an hour? most in a row? So I looked them up for him. He's going to be mad. He was rightfully proud that he did 1000 push-ups in a day. Unfortunately the records for regular push-ups are 10,507 in a row, or 1781 in an hour, except thats using the back of hand style which sounds quite painful and they warn it can lead to injury. Oh here we go a full list of records... ouch some people do way too many push ups.

My Bad!

This kid shoulda have listened to smoky da bear. I can't imagine how to respond as a judge, assuming it was just some little kid doing the stupid shit that kids do, the kid played with matches. Normally thats a sent to the room, maybe without dinner kinda crime. This time it also happened to destroy 20+ homes and many other buildings, burned 15,000 acres and left 5 people injured. How do you deal with that? I don't envy that judge. The other guy in the article though, with the white ford I might just enjoy being the judge on that same. I hope you enjoyed that sun rise, it'll be your last as a free man. Bu-Bye.

Awkward

Ever hook up with someone (an intentionally vague term) while inebriated, then bull shit a bit in the morning, then bull shit a little online only to have them eventually say, oh by the way, I don't remember what happened that night. For you're sake I hope not cause it's not a comfortable spot. I feel like I took advantage of the girl even though thats not at all how shit went down. I'm just glad things didn't go any further than they did or I'd feel even worse. It doesn't help that there are pretty big gaps in my memories of the night but I know what happened and I know I didn't do anything wrong. I guess it was sort of taking advantage of a drunk person, but not any more than she took advantage of this drunk person, but somehow that argument just doesn't isn't making me feel any better at all. Oh and making shit all the worse is the fact that shes a bit younger than me (but not inappropriately so) I don't want to be the dirty old man, I mean maybe when I'm old but not when I'm 25.
Theres a really good chance that I'm blowing this all out of proportion, if she was uncomfortable with not knowing what happened then I think she'd be uncomfortable with me, so the fact that we sat around doing nothing for several hours in the morning, and early afternoon, even after the person who's house it was left because he was heading out of town. So I think everything is cool, but at this moment I feel pretty bad about what was originally a pretty damn good time, and thats not cool.

UPDATE: Every things cool. As I expected I blew everything massively out of proportion. She's a little mad at herself for getting so drunk but hey it happens.

Halloween

Good times were had by all. I've got a few photo's of myself but so far just from the fourth party of the weekend and I'm not looking my best. If I get a good enough photo I might just post it here, which would be a first. Anyway I went to a party at the Holiday Inn for the Monster Ball. the place was packed, it was fun. Then went to a friends house for his party, and more fun was found. The Saturday I went to the Zombie Ball but I left early to go to a party at another friends house, and definitely had a good time. Halloween kicks ass.

The Onion lied to me / hot first ladies.

According to the Onion If elected Fred Thompson will have the hottest first lady in history. Now I guess it's not really a lie in that she would be better than all those who have come before although you could argue for Jakie O, but that's mentioned in the article. No my problem is that while she is attractive, of all people Dennis Kucinich's wife is considerably better looking, at least in my opinion. I guess it depends on if you're a boob man, plus the Irish in me goes a little crazy for the redheads. Damn Dennis even has him beat in the age disparity column, the Leprechaun married a woman less than half is age! he's 60 she's 29. we need some pictures.

First off Mrs. Thompson.A good looking woman for sure, and not really a great picture of her. Plus having Jowls in the scene kills any hope of sexiness. Lets give her another chance., how about one with Kelsey Grammer, everyone likes Frazer even if he was better on Cheers.
Ok we get a better look at the rest of her, which is very nice, unfortunately her face looks busted in that pic. well combine those two in your head and she's definitely a trophy wife. Even ugly men can get hot wifes, if they're rich.

Now for Elizabeth Kucinich.

I think we have a winner, Barbra Bush AHH sorry just a little pre-Halloween scare.
Again I know there is real shit to talk about in the world but I'm in a fairly good mood and I just don't feel like it. I'd rather look at the woman I want to be first lady. And dammit Dennis who let you out of the house with a red bow tie? Wait are those sequins on that bow tie WTF your trying to be president, look like one! Wow, I just commented on clothing. I think ill be getting back to things that matter sooner than I expected.
